The GVSU Advertising Club is a student organization devoted to helping current or prospective students with their future careers in advertising, public relations, graphic design, and more.
The Advertising Club is an inclusive organization that invites ALL majors to join and make connections!
We regularly host a variety of speakers from across the industry to give our members a taste of the ad industry. Members can tour and visit real agencies and network with real industry professionals throughout the year.
GVSU Advertising Club is non-exclusive and welcoming to any interested students. We encourage you to become a member of our organization, but non-members are welcome to attend events for a small fee as well.
What We Do
Agency Tours
We collaborate with agencies within West Michigan (and sometimes Chicago) to give our members a chance to gain real connections with agency professionals. Show up with a smile, a nice blazer, and a resume! Be ready to ask questions about your career and what you’ll be doing in the future.
Guest Speakers
Ad Club offers a conversational learning experience hear professionals within the field share their journeys and offer advice. Do a little research before our meeting, and show up with questions for the guest speaker!
This year so far, we’ve had Jay Newell join us and discuss his experience working with big brands such as Nickelodeon, CNN, etc.
Social Experiences
We aren’t just an organization that learns, we’re one that actually delivers. We give our members a chance to exercise their creative brains in a social environemnt. We’ve made vision boards, painted pumpkins, and analyzed product placement in movies (and more).
Make friends within your industry and hold onto them for future connections!
Volunteer Opportunities
We are an organization that gives back to our community. It’s important for us to go outside of our box and make connections outside of our industry as well! Last year, we helped the Human Society with maintaining a clean environment for its animals. We even got to play with puppies later!
Help us help others while making connections.
Your first meeting of the year is completely free!
